I hadn’t thought about the essay at all yet, but looking through the choices I think I’ll either write on Yeh-Hsien or Yin Yan. They’re both pretty different from the regular Cinderella story and would have a lot of interesting details to write about in a paper. I thought it was interesting how the last paragraph in Yeh-Hsien has practically nothing to do with any of the main character, but instead focuses on the fish bones and how they were used. It definitely has a lot to do with the differences in cultures, so there would be a lot of stuff to discuss in there.
