Hi guys, I’m planning on writing about “Heinrich, or the Love of Gold” as well. I’m planning on focusing on materialism and greed within the working class. The entire tale basically revolves around this theme, so I should be able to do something with it. However, I’m having trouble developing an arguable thesis. I need to find some sort of interesting significance about this theme and the era. I’m thinking the more i research, the closer i’ll get to a thesis. fingers crossed.
i’m sure you are way past this point, but i spent about three hours on the victorian web last night and found about three new really good sources. they have a lot of interesting things, and a bunch of links and such. you could probably find some really good stuff about the materialism in the working class. good luck! sorry if it’s too late.
