How are everyone’s essays going? Is anyone planning on rewriting an essay? What are you going to change if you do? I’m not sure yet if I’ll have time, I’m going in to talk to Dara tomorrow I think. If I do a rewrite, it will probably mostly be structural changes and some content stuff. 

What did everyone think? I loved it, something about Carter’s writing style is really compelling. The story seems much more real than the other fairy tales we’ve read, it’s definitely not for kids, and I thought the sexual aspects of her writing are intriguing. Did anyone else have trouble with tomorrow’s reading? I can’t get through it, it’s so dry. All I got from it was that politics are important in all works, but after that everything stops making sense. Same problem for anyone else?

Does anyone know if Sumpter’s “Crusade Against the Giants” and “The Brave Little Tailor” are the same thing? I only see one Sumpter article on eres.

Anyone feeling the crunch yet? Does anyone know where I can get sources on the economic conditions during the Grimm time period, more specifically on the struggle between the upper and middle/lower classes?
