I did eventually end up writing about Donkeyskin. I hope that my argument was detailed enough, but I guess I’ll find out at my conference tomorrow.

I am not sure what I want to write about yet, but the story I found most interesting was Donkeyskin. I enjoyed that version the best and it drew me in more than the others. I thought the ring test was also a interesting twist on the slipper test. It seemed more magical to me [...]

I am not yet exactly sure which story I am going to choose to cover on the first essay of the class on Cinderella, but I do have a few favorite versions. I am most interested in Perrault’s “Donkeyskin”, Lin Lan’s “Cinderella”, and “The Princess in the Suit of Leather”.

Well I am unsure about which Cinderella I want to write about. I was thinking of doing the catskin one, but now I am not sure since the essay is a more close reading and so it would be harder for me to pick one thing or subject to write about when there are so [...]

I’m thinking about choosing one of the Catskin/Donkeyskin tales for my essay, because they deviate so far from the Cinderella we are familiar with. I found it interesting (and unfair!) that in them, the father is forgiven for his incestuous desires, and even, in the case of The Princess in the Suit of Leather absolved [...]
