On Thursday the Motion Picture Association of America stated that portrayals of smoking would be considered alongside sex and violence in assessing the suitability of movies for young viewers. Films that appear to glamorize smoking will risk a more restrictive rating. Do you think movies that contain smoking deserve a more restrictive rating?
I found this ad posted in a friend’s room. I think the style is clearly an imitation of the old calvin klein ads from the 90′s. While satirizing the heroin chic style, the ad (for a clothing company) is also embracing the style. These types of ads seem to be problematic considering the sexual aspects and body image issues they evoke.
you all most likely remember the taco bell dog commercials. Do you think these commercials are outright racist…should they have been banned…are they ok…?
I remember seeing this advertisement on TV but supposedly it got banned. If so…do you think that this ad should have been banned. I do not believe that this ad is any different from most ads out 2day.
While searching on youtube i came across this commercial. Take a look at it:
This commercial is hilarious. Yes, it is very sexually suggestive but I believe it does a good job at reversing gender roles. In this commercial the woman is in control over the man. He is submissive to her.
On a side note…i do not think this a real beer commercial…does anyone know what this is really advertising
. This commercial is a play of the stereotypical beer commercial. It starts off with the sexualized women, but instead of giving us the message that by drinking their beer we get this amazingly hot girl it tells us that the taste is more important. Although this ad may appear to dismantle the typical role of the sexualized women in advertisement It still gives the message that men are in control while women r not. What do u thinks.
this beer ad is a take of of the Final battle in the Lord of the Rings. It plays off of the powerful music which can not be understood, that is played during the battle scenes.
the chaotic mess that occurs during this commercial actually puts across a simple message. Everyone can be a part of the action if you have an x box. What do you think…do u find this effective
