I’ve always felt that the Ad Council has done some really great ad campains aimed at pre-teens and teens that are incredibly effective.

Stride Gum
Has anyone seen the Stride Gum commerical where they talk about the gum being a hit overseas? It’s this horrendously stereotypical Asian man with his stereotypically bad Chinese to English accent, only he’s dressed like a rapper with excessive necklaces and what not.
 It’s pretty much awful.

 This commercial bothers me a lot, not only because of the fact that it is REALLY heavily reliant on stereotypes for humor, but also because I don’t even feel like they’ve done their stereotyping well.

Clearly, these catchy songs have some sort of other-worldly power because some songs just WON’T leave my brain! Sometimes I catch myself actually *singing* the Manwich song. And now that Office Depot commerical that has blocked my brain with their stupid-but-catchy lyrics.
