Here is a series of print ads by Vaio that use nature as a backdrop for their latest laptop. By replacing the normal office environment (where the product is likely to be used) with stunning pictures of nature, they are implicity associating their product with a romanticized notion of escape and beauty. I think there [...]
As I’m writing my research paper on national food stereotypes in advertising, I was looking for an ad campaign that embodied “American†ideology and food. I think the Chipotle billboard series is not only a really good example of stereotypic American values (hugeness, standardized, fast, clever/ funny) but I think they’re creative and eye-catching. Check [...]
Here is the real link. Sorry about the mix-up.

This site is an amazing example of a good way to showcase your work innovatively. It’s an advertising company that has an interactive flash site. You use a pencil to write on the screen and navigate through the different sections of links and ads. It’s very visual will undoubtedly keep your attention. http://www.leoburnett.ca/

This ad relies heavily on national stereotypes. I couldn’t understand what they were saying but I’m not sure if the German (i think) is real. It may actually be better if you can’t undertsand the words but I’m not sure.

This is a really interesting ad. I’m not sure what to think of it. I origionally thought it was a spoof but it’s real.

In the durex commercial I just posted, pay special attention to the background music.
We have discussed in class how music really ads to the commercials and this is a really good example of that. I also realized that it could be promoting an attribute of the product but maybe that’s a stretch.
I thought this was a great ad. It’s really funny and actually made me laugh out loud.

Some people thought it should be banned but I didn’t think it was that bad.
Thoughts?
This is a series of ads from the 90’s. They were pulled from the air becasue people deemed them offensive.

I thought they were awful.
Any thoughts?
